Geometry Lesson Plan 12/5-12/9

Monday:

Students will receive an entry assignment covering finding scale factors. Once students have completed the entry assignment, we will go over each of the questions together as a class. Next, we will finish up Ch.4.6 Dilations. Today’s objective is for students to be able to use scale factors to dilate figures. Students will receive a HW Assignment covering Ch.4.6 dilations that will due Wednesday of this week.

Students will receive a Test Review covering translations, rotations, reflections & dilations in preparation for a test that will be tomorrow. Students will have the class period to complete Ch.4.6 HW Assignment & Ch.4 Test Review.

Students will receive an entry assignment covering using midpoint formula, distance formula & solving equations with variables on both sides. Once students have completed the entry assignment, we will go over each of the questions together as a class. Next, we will begin Ch.5.1 Angles of Triangles. Today’s objective is for students to be able to classify triangle based on their side lengths & angle measures. Students will receive an exit ticket assessment covering classifying triangles.

Once students have completed the entry assignment, we will go over each of the questions together as a class. Next, we will begin Ch.5.2 Solving Systems of equations by Substitution. Today’s objective is for students to be able to substitute in systems of equations when equation is already put in y= or x=. Students will receive an exit ticket assessment covering solving systems using substitution.

Today’s objective is for students to be able rearrange equations to use the substitution method to solve systems. Students will receive Ch.5.2 HW Assignment, which will be due Thursday of this week.

Today’s objective is for students to work practice problems solving systems of equations using the substitution or graphing method.

Once students have completed the entry assignment, we will go over each of the questions together as a class. Next, we will begin Ch.5.3 Solving Systems of Equations by Elimination. Today’s objective is for students to understand how to combine & eliminate a variable to solve systems of equations. Students will receive an exit ticket assessment covering using the the elimination method to solve systems of equations.

Today’s objective is for students to be able to use multiplication to eliminate variables using the elimination method. Student will receive a HW Assignment covering Ch.5.3 Solving Systems Using Elimination that will be due Tuesday of next week.
