Algebra I Lesson Plan 9/19-9/23

Monday:

Upon entering the classroom students will receive a entry assignment covering writing & graphing multi-step inequalities. Once finished, we will go over each of the questions together. Next, we will begin Ch.2.5 Compound Inequalities. Today’s objective is for students to be able to understand how to write compound inequalities in “and/or” form. Students will receive an exit ticket assessment covering how to write compound inequalities.

Tuesday:

*HW Assignment DUE: Ch.2.4, Pg.71 #7-14, 23-26

Students will turn in Ch.2.4 HW Assignment upon entering the classroom. Students will then receive an entry assignment covering writing compound inequalities in “and/or” form. Once finished, we will go over each of the entry assignment questions together. Next, we will continue with Ch.2.5 Compound Inequalities. Today’s objective is for students to be able to graph “and/or” compound inequalities on a number line. Students will receive a HW Assignment covering Ch.2.5 Compound Inequalities that will be due Thursday of this week.

*HW Assignment ISSUED: Ch.2.5, Pg.77-78 #3, 6-8, 13-16, 25-27, 30

Wednesday:

Upon entering the classroom students will receive an entry assignment covering Ch.2.5 Writing & Graphing Compound Inequalities. Once students have finished the entry assignments, we will go over each of the questions together. Next, students will receive a test review covering Ch.2.4 Solving Multi-Step Inequalities & Ch.2.5 Writing/Graphing/Solving Compound Inequalities. Ch.2.4-2.5 will be Thursday(tomorrow) of this week. Today’s objective is to reinforce solving multi-step inequalities & writing/graphing/solving compound inequalities in preparation for the test on Thursday.

Ch.2.4-2.5 test today. Today’s objective is to assess the student’s knowledge of multi-step & compound inequalities.

Friday:

Upon entering classroom students will receive an entry assignment covering plotting points in a coordinate plane & evaluating expressions. Once students have completed the entry assignment, we will go over each of the questions together. Next, we will begin Ch.3.1 Functions. Today’s objective is for students to determine a whether or not something is a function, use the vertical line test, & identify domain/range. Students will receive an exit ticket assessment covering determining functions. using the vertical line test, & identifying domain/range.
