Geometry Lesson Plan 9/19-9/23

Monday:

Upon entering the classroom students will receive an entry assignment covering finding the inverse, converse, & contrapositive of a conditional statement. Once finished, we will go over each of the questions together. Next, we will finish up Ch.2.1 Conditional Statements by writing biconditional statements & creating a truth table; students will receive a foldable for their interactive student notebook that we will fill out together. Today’s objective is for students to be able to write a biconditional statement & develop a truth table. Students will receive an exit ticket assessment covering writing biconditional statements & developing a truth table that will be due at the end of class.

Tuesday:

Upon entering the classroom, students will receive a entry assignment covering finding patterns in preparation in for Ch.2.2 Inductive & Deductive Reasoning. Once finished, we will go over each of the questions together. Next, we will begin Ch.2.2 Inductive & Deductive Reasoning. Today’s objective is for students to be able to using inductive & deductive reasoning, as well develop conjectures & counter examples. Students will receive a HW Assignment covering Ch.2.2 Inductive & Deductive Reasoning that will be due Thursday of this week.

Wednesday:

Upon entering the classroom, students will receive an entry assignment covering using inductive & deductive reasoning. Once finished, we will go over each of the questions together. Next, we will begin Ch.2.3 Postulates; students will receive a foldable for the their interactive student notebook covering two-point, line-point, line intersection, three point, plane-point, plane-line, & plane intersection postulates that we will fill out together. Today’s objective is for students to understand the the definitions & vocabulary associated with all the postulates. Students will receive an exit ticket assessment covering defining postulates that will be due at the end of the class period.

Thursday:

HW Assignment ISSUED: Ch.2.2 Pg.80-81 #9, 10, 13, 14, 17, 18, 21, 22, 25, 26, 29-32

Upon entering the classroom, students will receive an entry assignment covering defining postulates. Once finished, we will go over each of the questions together. Next, we will continue with Ch.2.3 Postulates. Today’s objective is for students to be able to identifying postulates from pictures & diagrams. Students will receive a HW Assignment covering Ch.2.3 Postulates that will be due Tuesday of next week.

Friday:

Upon entering the classroom, students will be given a kahoot quiz online covering conditional statements, inductive & deductive reasoning, & postulates. Once finished with the quiz, students will receive a Ch.2.1-2.3 test review that will cover conditional statements, inductive/deductive reasoning, & postulate; the Ch.2.1-2.3 test will be Monday of next week. Today’s objective is to assess & prepare students for Ch.2.1-2.3 test covering conditional statements, inductive/deductive reasoning, & postulates.
