Algebra I Lesson Plan 02/06-02/10

Monday:

Students will receive an entry assignment covering solving simple equations & multi-step equations. Once finished, we will go over each of the questions together as a class. Next, we will work examples together of solving equations with variables on both sides as well as rewriting equations & formulas. Students will receive a HW Assignment covering solving equations that will be due Friday of this week. Today’s objective is to review Ch.1 Solving Linear Equations.

TEKS: a.5.a, a.10.d, a.12.e

Tuesday:

Students will receive an entry assignment covering exponential functions. Once finished, we will go over each of the questions together as a class. Next, we will continue with exponential functions. Today’s objective is for students to be able to identify asymptotes, domain, range, & graph exponential functions using a table. Students will receive a HW Assignment covering Ch.6.3 Exponential Functions that will be due Thursday of this week.

TEKS: a.9.a, a.9.b, a.9.c, a.9.d, a.9.e

Wednesday:

Students will receive an entry assignment covering graphing exponential functions. Once finished, we will go over each of the questions together as a class. Next, we will begin Ch.6.4 Exponential Growth & Decay. Today’s objective is for students to be able to recognize a growth or decay based on a function. Students will receive an exit ticket assessment covering identifying exponential growth & decay that will be due at the end of the class period.

TEKS: a.9.b, a.9.c, a.9.d

Thursday:

Students will receive an entry assignment covering identifying exponential growth & decay. Once finished, we will go over each of the problems together as a class. Next, we will continue with Ch.6.4 Exponential Growth & Decay. Today’s objective is for students to be able to write a function that represents either an exponential growth or decay. Students will receive an online HW Assignment that will cover Ch.6.4 Exponential Growth & Decay that will be due Tuesday of next week.

TEKS: a.9.b, a.9.c, a.9.d
Friday:

Students will receive an entry assignment that will covering writing functions of exponential growth & decay. Once finished, we will go over each of the questions together as a class. Next, students will begin a group activity covering exponential growth & decay that will be due at the end of the class period. Today’s objective is to further assess & reinforce student’s knowledge of exponential growth & decay.
