Monday:

Students will receive an entry assignment covering using centroids to find lengths in triangles. Once finished, we will go over each of the questions together. Next, we will continue with Ch.6.3 Medians & Altitudes of Triangles. Today’s objective is for students to be able to determine whether an orthocenter is located in, on or outside a triangle, as well as being able to find the coordinates of an orthocenter. Students will receive a HW Assignment that will be due Wednesday of this week.

Students will then begin a group work activity for the application of the perpendicular bisector & the converse of the perpendicular bisector theorem in triangles. Students will then break into groups to construct triangles with a straightedge & compass. Students will be required to turn in their constructed triangles as their “exit ticket” for the class period. Today’s objective is for students to be able to find the circumcenter & construct a triangle based on the circumcenter.

Students will then begin their group work activity consisting of using the incenter to find side lengths within a triangle. Students will turn in their group work assignment as their “exit ticket” to leave the classroom. Student will also receive an online HW Assignment covering Ch.6.2 that will be due as their “entry ticket” into the classroom on Tuesday of next week. Today’s objective is for students to be able to apply the incenter theorem & solve for side lengths within a triangle.

Students will then begin their group work activity consisting of using medians and finding centroids of triangles. Students will turn in their group work activity for their “exit ticket” from the classroom. Today’s objective is for students to be able to use medians and find the centroids of the triangles.

Next, we will review finding the nth root of a number, then proceed into a group work activity into finding the nth root of a number. Students will receive an online homework assignment at the conclusion of the group work activity that will be due Wednesday of this week. Today’s objective is for students to be able to find the nth root of a number using radicals & rational exponents.

Students will be put in groups to work together to evaluate the differences between linear & exponential functions. Students will turn in a work pages with the results of their findings as an “exit ticket” to leave the class.
